Thinking of starting or adding to your family tree? We invite you to take a free Birthing Center tour, where you will view our spacious, private birthing suites, learn what to bring to the hospital and participate in a group question and answer session with a birthing center registered nurse.

The feelings and emotions you experience over the coming months and years will be unique to you. That’s part of what makes them so special. But there are certain things you can expect, anticipate, prepare for and enjoy at various stages along the way. To help you make the most of this very important time, we have prepared this resource. This guide will help you prepare for your child’s birth and your stay at Dignity Health’s Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Our certification allows us to care for babies 28 weeks gestation and older. The Birthing Center has highly skilled nurses with experience caring for newborns requiring extra monitoring. A neonatal nurse practitioner, with training to handle any emergency that may arise during labor or delivery, is on site at all times.
If your baby was exposed to drugs like opiates while you were pregnant, he or she may start to experience symptoms as soon as 24 to 48 hours after birth. We now have a new and different approach called Eat, Sleep, Console.
The goal is for you or other designated family members to stay at the bedside the entire time to take care of your baby because we believe your baby will do best with you. Members of our team will also be there to assist you.
Chandler Regional, in conjunction with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), performs standard genetic testing in newborns to identify 29 disorders. In doing so, ADHS is able to detect rare, inherited disorders in Arizona newborns and provide follow-up services to save lives and improve quality of life.
Coronavirus Update: Our maternity support groups are now being held online during their regularly scheduled times and days. Some OB classes are also available online. For class availability and registration, please check our online registration. In-person tours remain cancelled until further notice.
Chandler Regional’s Family Birth Center offers a variety of classes and support groups help educate and prepare expectant families. Visit our classes and events section for a complete listing and registration.
Congratulations on the birth of your baby! Delivering babies is our Specialty. At and at Chandler Regional's Family Birth Center our practices are designed to help you achieve the best birth for the healthiest baby, and have the most satisfying experience. We are proud to partner with the Arizona Public Cord Blood Program to provide our expectant parents with the option of donating their baby’s umbilical cord blood to the national registry where it could save the life of someone with a life-threatening disease, or in need of a stem cell transplant.
