Glendale Memorial Awards More Than $100,000 to Local Community Organizations

As in past years, Glendale Memorial Hospital awards grants to organizations partnering together to respond to needs identified in our most recent Community Health Needs Assessment – including obesity, mental health, diabetes, alcohol and substance abuse, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and cholesterol.

The four accountable care communities awarded grants are:

1. Ascencia (lead organization), Corporation for Supportive Housing, and Northeast Valley Health Corporation 
2. Glendale Community Free Health Clinic (lead organization), Family Promise of the Verdugos, and Sunday Lunch Program
3. Kids Community Dental Clinic (lead organization), Glendale Unified School District, and Ascencia 
4. Wellness Works (lead organization), Trauma Resource Institute, and Veterans Coalition of Glendale and the Verdugos

“Our Dignity Health Community Grants Program seeks to partner with other community organizations whose efforts embody Dignity Health’s five core values: Dignity, Collaboration, Justice, Stewardship, and Excellence,” explains Rev. Cassie McCarty, Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care Services for Glendale Memorial Hospital. “We are so impressed by the accomplishments of our community agency neighbors, and we are honored to support their efforts. Our community partnerships strengthen our Dignity Health mission to improve the quality of life.”

The Community Grants Program is funded by contributions from Dignity Health member hospitals and supports Glendale Memorial Hospital in its mission to provide compassionate, high­quality and affordable health services.

On January 28, Glendale Memorial Hospital will invite the partnering agencies to accept their grant award at a luncheon hosted to celebrate their efforts. The luncheon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the John Stauffer Auditorium on our hospital campus.
