The Picture of Good Health

At Community Hospital San Bernardino’s Imaging Department, we’re here to keep you happy, healthy, and whole.

Dignity Health Advanced Imaging is dedicated to quality, efficiency and patient comfort. We bring a personal touch to technical imaging procedures, putting patients at ease during their tests, while providing accurate and comprehensive diagnostic information.

Catheterization (cath lab)

Cardiac catheterization, also called or heart catheterization, is a form of diagnostic imaging that is performed to diagnose or treat conditions affecting the heart. During a cardiac cath, a doctor uses a thin tube, called a catheter, to get a picture of the heart’s blood vessels and perform tests or treatments.

Electroencephalogram (EEG)

An electroencephalogram, or EEG, is one of the key tests used to diagnose neurological issues, especially epilepsy. Using electrode sensors, doctors will monitor your brain's electrical activity to determine brain wave patterns and any subsequent problems.

Computed Tomography (CT) Scan

CT Scans help radiologists to diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. It uses special X-ray equipment to obtain image data from different angles around the body. The computer creates a two-dimensional image of the inside of your body. CT imaging is particularly useful because it can show several types of tissue- lung, bone, soft tissue and blood vessels- with great clarity.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MRI’s provide excellent images of soft tissue structures like the brain, spinal cord, muscle and certain internal organs, as well as joint anatomy. Doctors are able to see many of your body's internal structures better on MRI than with other techniques. It is a safe diagnostic imaging technique which uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce pictures of your body. X-rays are not used. After the scan, a computer compiles the information and produces cross-sectional images of your body, providing your doctor with valuable, detailed information.

Diagnostic Imaging

X-rays are a common type of imaging used to produce images of the structures in your body, such as your bones. It is a painless process that has been used for decades. An X-ray image is produced when a small amount of radiation passes through the body and strikes a sheet of sensitive film placed on the other side of the body. The ability of X-rays to penetrate soft tissues allows the film to show those structures to your doctor, providing valuable information for your care.

Mammography

Community Hospital's Medical Imaging Center is designed to provide you with the best comfort and care. We have a digital mammography unit with flex paddles and soft pads for just that reason. Mammograms are still the gold standard for breast cancer detection so that doctors detect abnormalities and changes in breast tissue before they start to cause symptoms. Early detection and treatment of breast cancer can be life-saving, so let us make it easy for you to take the preventive screening that could make all the difference.

Community Hospital’s Medical Imaging Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology for Mammography services.
