Governance and Leadership
Through teamwork and innovation, faith and compassion, advocacy and action, the executive leadership team, board of directors, and sponsorship council undertake responsibility for major decisions affecting our health care ministry and the communities we serve.
Quality and kindness form the basis for the decisions we make in both medicine and business. Some decisions are obvious, some routine, some automatic. Others are more complex and may put our values to the test. Every Dignity Health hospital has an ethics committee whose role is to educate, develop policy, and support clinical decision making.
Showing kindness means looking for solutions even outside our own hospitals' walls. That's why, in addition to our efforts to reform the health care system, we are exercising our rights as a shareholder in other large companies to advocate for ethical business practices that support healthy communities. For more information about our shareholder advocacy program, or to talk with us about supporting ethical business practices, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our mission is not a mere list of pieties hanging on a plaque. It really does inform all that we do. "Mission integration" means that we've adopted a set of standards that helps guide us in literal and concrete ways. Throughout the organization, our Standards for Mission Integration help us assess how our values are put into day-to-day practice.
