Dignity Health Mourns the Passing of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee

San Francisco, CA – December 12, 2017 – Dignity Health is shocked by the sudden passing of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee. He was a visionary leader for the city and provided stable leadership despite a contentious political environment.

“I am deeply saddened about the passing of Mayor Ed Lee,” said Lloyd Dean, President and CEO of Dignity Health. “He was a committed and courageous public servant with the highest integrity. He was loved by San Francisco and will be missed by all. Our heartfelt prayers are with his family during this difficult time."

Dignity Health leaders enjoyed a highly productive relationship with Mayor Lee to preserve and protect affordable health care, increase affordable housing, and advocate for the care of the homeless and mentally ill. As Mayor, he took the bold steps necessary to expand access to quality services for all San Franciscans and will leave an indelible mark on this city for years to come.
