Jarrett Anderson Named Chairperson

CHW Names New Board Chairperson

San Francisco, CA - May 7, 2008 - Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), the eighth largest hospital system in the nation, announced today that Jarrett S. Anderson has been named Chairperson of the CHW Board of Directors, effective May 1. Mr. Anderson joined the CHW Board of Directors in 2002 and has served as Vice Chair since 2005.

Mr. Anderson's appointment comes as CHW is stepping up its advocacy efforts for healthcare reform. The not-for-profit hospital system recently released its 2008 Health Security Index, which measures the level of security the American public has in their ability to maintain their health and access health care services. The Index is one example of CHW's long history of advocating for healthcare reform.

"I've always been driven by the ideal of community service and not-for-profit healthcare embodies that ideal." Mr. Anderson said. "I'm honored to serve the mission of CHW as the Board Chair and will ensure we continue to be an organization that focuses on delivering excellent, compassionate care to all in need, partnering with others, and advocating for a more just healthcare system while speaking out for those who are disenfranchised."

Since 1964, Mr. Anderson has practiced law with the offices of Melby & Anderson LLP, based in Glendale, California. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Law Library, and has been a member of the Advisory Committee on the State Bar of California on Continuing Legal Education. He has also served as Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
