Brian Tiffany

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Jan. 27, 2022) – Brian Tiffany, MD, PhD, has been named the new chief physician executive for the Dignity Health Southwest Division. Dr. Tiffany has assumed the role previously held by Keith Frey, MD, who recently retired.

As Dignity Health’s Southwest Division chief physician executive, Dr. Tiffany will advance clinical excellence, performance, and alignment throughout Dignity Health’s Arizona and Nevada markets; build strong physician relationships and engagement; enhance care delivery throughout the division; and contribute to growth and strategy efforts.

“I am thrilled to welcome Dr. Tiffany as our chief executive physician,” says Linda Hunt, president and CEO of Dignity Health’s Southwest Division. “Dr. Tiffany has been a valuable member of the Dignity Health team for many years and is respected for his strong and forward-thinking leadership and the tremendous expertise and humankindness he provides his patients and team.”

Dr. Tiffany has been a member of the Dignity Health team for nearly 20 years. He has served as chief medical officer for Dignity Health’s Arizona General Hospital (AGH) Phoenix since December 2018, helping to lead the clinical operations of AGH–Laveen, AGH–Mesa, and 12 hospital satellite emergency departments. He has seen AGH through tremendous growth, led several service and quality initiatives, and helped to build a strong clinical team.

Dr. Tiffany has also played a key role in the organization’s COVID-19 response efforts, serving as part of the Southwest Division’s Incident Command and leading a research study on the pandemic’s impact on healthcare workers.

An emergency medicine physician since 1990, Dr. Tiffany joined Dignity Health in 2003 as a member of the medical staff at Dignity Health Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers. He also served as chairman of the East Valley Regional Institutional Review Board. Before joining Dignity Health, Dr. Tiffany was the chairman of emergency medicine for Maricopa Medical Center.

“I’m privileged to serve such an incredible organization and community,” says Dr. Tiffany. In this new role, I look forward to continuing Dignity Health’s efforts to providing world-class care to our patients.”

A graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Tiffany received his Doctor of Philosophy from Wayne State University.
