Dignity Health’s Arizona service area provides unique marketing, public relations and internal communications internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates to gain strategic marketing, PR and communications experience in one of the fastest growing industries in the country.

As a marketing, public relations, or communications intern, you’ll be part of one of the largest hospital systems and not-for-profit humankindness providers in the nation. While the internships are headquartered in Phoenix, some travel to hospitals and/or special events may be required.

Join one of the most successful marketing and communications teams in the health care industry to learn tactics for juggling the big picture marketing mix, preparing internal communications and initiating employee engagement, or managing relationships while writing and pitching news stories.

The public relations team in Arizona often garners national media attention. An intern for the public relations team may have the opportunity to gain experience not only with local media, but with any of the following national media outlets:

Qualifications

Marketing, public relations and internal communications internship applicants should have at least two years of college experience with strong communication ability including good writing, grammar and organizational skills. Interest in social media communication is a plus. Creativity and flexibility are essential.

Responsibilities

Public relations interns at Dignity Health are responsible for supporting the department’s daily activities including researching, writing, proofreading, pitching news stories, assisting with media visits and publicity events, as well as various other special projects. Work is commensurate with an entry-level public relations position.

Marketing interns at Dignity Health will collaborate with internal departments on a variety of projects and assignments. They are responsible for supporting the department’s daily activities including events and promotions, writing and proofreading, analysis, etc. Demonstrating interest in social media and media/communication strategies is essential. Work is commensurate with an entry-level marketing position.

Time Commitment

These internship opportunities typically require approximately 20 hours per week for the spring, summer, fall or winter semester with at least three days in the office. Some scheduling flexibility and travel may be required.
