Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center has a full suite of support services available to assist our patients with their physical, mental, psychosocial, and spiritual health.

The Supportive Care and Survivorship Program at Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s provides care to enhance a cancer survivor’s quality of life post treatment. This personalized care is delivered by a team of physicians, nurses, registered dietitians, social workers, physical/occupational therapists, and pastoral care professionals.

How can supportive care help?

Our supportive care team provides emotional, nutritional, medical, physical, and practical support for patients undergoing cancer treatment, as well as post treatment. Supportive care can help with the following symptoms:

  • Pain
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Fatigue or Low Energy
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Constipation/Diarrhea
  • Loss of Appetite or Weight changes
  • Difficulty Sleeping
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Weakness / Balance Problems
  • Neuropathy or Numbness
  • Lymphedema including Physical and Occupational Therapy

Multidisciplinary Approach to Cancer Care

At the Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s, we take a multidisciplinary team approach that includes radiation medicine experts.  The radiation oncologists focus on radiation treatment options, while other specialists focus on other aspects of your care.  Our doctors provide leading-edge radiation therapies that are unique and may not be available at other centers in our community.  Above all, we focus on a precision approach and compassionate care for each patient.
