Support and Education

At Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, support for our patients and caregivers comes in many forms, including a range of support and education. Whether it’s providing classes or emotional support, each session is designed to provide meaningful assistance for patients on their cancer journey.

Chemotherapy and immunotherapy classes

Group education classes are held weekly for existing Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s patients starting chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy. In this class, patients and family members will learn what to expect from treatment of cancer. Side effects from cancer treatment is discussed in length along with practical information and tips, advice for coping strategies and what to expect the first day of treatment. A tour of the infusion center and a question and answer session concludes the class. Patients are scheduled through their nurse navigator. Interested in learning more? Please call, (602) 825-2039.
