In our surgical Simulation Center and skills laboratories, you will put your knowledge of laparoscopic and other surgical skills into hands-on practice under the guidance of faculty who will provide vital feedback to perfect your abilities.
Following a curriculum based on the ACS/APDS guidance, residents will hone skills in suturing, instrument handling, tissue dissection, application of Endo-Loops, knot tying, vasculature manipulation, vessel skeletonization, and much more.
Our lab follows the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) curriculum and prepares you for FLS certification that optimizes your competency with patient safety measures and surgical techniques. FLS support MIS education as well as other specialties including gynecologic and urologic procedure curriculum.
Our lab follows the Fundamentals of Endoscopic Surgery (FES) curriculum and prepares you for FES certification . The educational and assessment framework includes didactics presentations, assessments or technical and psychomotor skills, and virtual reality simulation for GI endoscopies.
Our lab provides training in minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery, to prepare for certification in this rapidly changing surgical specialty field.
