Alan Sheinbaum, MD
Alan Sheinbaum, MD, is a faculty physician with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center’s Hepatology department. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Sheinbaum is considered an expert in Hepatology with several publications, numerous years of research, and lectures on evolving and complex care of patients with various stages of liver disease.
He has received a number of teaching awards, and incorporates academics and his teaching philosophy into the care of his patients. Dr Sheinbaum takes pride in engaging his patients to develop a plan of care that is comprehensive.
“My job as a medical doctor is to educate my patients on the ‘whys’ and ‘how comes’. It is my responsibility to understand the patients’ needs and help educate them on the best healing ways.”
Dr. Sheinbaum received his medical degree from Tufts University. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowship programs at UCLA Center for Health Sciences. After he completed his Internal Medicine fellowship training, Dr. Sheinbaum completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Tufts- New England Medical Center.
