Calcium Scoring Test
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease remains the number one cause of death in the United States. More than 500,000 people will die this year from a heart attack, and for 52 percent of these people, a heart attack will be their first symptom.
Chandler Regional is committed providing programs to increase early detection and prevention of heart disease in our East Valley community. The calcium scoring test successfully identifies early stage coronary artery disease before you have any symptoms.
What Is A Calcium Scoring Test?
A calcium scoring test takes a scan of your heart that allows your doctor to look for calcium deposits that can narrow your arteries and increase your risk of heart attack. Calcium scoring is a non-invasive, painless test that takes approximately one hour—with the actual test lasting less than five minutes. The test is done using Chandler Regional's 128 slice CT scanner.
