Dignity Health East Valley breaks ground on new medical office building
Facility will be home to new graduate medical education program in East Valley
(GILBERT, Ariz. – April 21, 2022) – Dignity Health East Valley broke ground on the construction of a new medical office building in Gilbert, Ariz., this week. The 45,000 square foot facility, which will be located near Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, will expand necessary health care services to the rapidly growing East Valley community. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2023.
The two story medical office building will be home to the Dignity Health East Valley graduate medical education programs, which will train the next generation of physicians in key clinical areas. The programs will also provide an opportunity for Dignity Health to recruit skilled and respected future medical providers. Arizona Diagnostic Radiology will also provide advanced medical imaging services within the new space.
“As the East Valley landscape and the families who call it home continue to grow, we are finding new ways to meet the health care needs of our neighbors,” said Mark Slyter, president and CEO of Dignity Health East Valley. “This new medical office building will allow us to further our mission of providing compassionate, expert and patient-centered care by training up-and-coming physicians and expanding outpatient imaging access.”
The new facility, called the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Medical Office Building III, is the third project between Dignity Health and PMB, a health care real estate developer. The architect for the project is Orcutt-Winslow and the general contractor is Venn Construction, both Valley-based companies. The new facility will be located across the street from Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center at 3477 South Mercy Road, which is just east of Val Vista Drive and Mercy Road.
