Cardinals and Dignity Health Reach Agreement on Training Center Naming Rights
TEMPE, AZ - Oct. 10, 2018 - The Arizona Cardinals Football Club and Dignity Health have reached an agreement on a 10-year naming rights commitment that results in the team’s training center in Tempe, AZ, being named the “Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center.”
“Dignity Health is a leading provider of healthcare services in the Phoenix marketplace and one of the nation’s largest health care systems, and we are excited to expand our partnership with them over the next decade,” said Cardinals President Michael Bidwill. “While this is a comprehensive marketing agreement, there will be a big focus on programs that will benefit high school athletes throughout the state of Arizona.”
In addition to the naming rights aspect, the agreement also includes a number of components that will impact the community at large. For example, Dignity Health and the Cardinals, in conjunction with the NFL, will provide grant money to fund additional athletic training staff for high school athletic programs across the state. In addition, both organizations will collaborate on the continued development of Barrow Brainbook, a concussion education and awareness program for Arizona’s high school athletes in all sports.
“Our organizations have been partners for many years and we share a similar value of giving back to the community," said Dignity Health in Arizona President and CEO Linda Hunt. "Now, we have the exciting opportunity to be the sponsor for the Cardinals Training Center and, at the same time, continue our ground-breaking educational efforts to keep Arizona’s student athletes safe.”
Dignity Health in Arizona is anchored by St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and the Barrow Neurological Institute in downtown Phoenix. The organization also includes Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers, along with St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center, Arizona General Hospital and dozens of clinics and other entities. Barrow Brainbook was launched in Arizona by Barrow in 2011, as the most comprehensive mandatory concussion education effort in the nation. Hundreds of thousands of high school athletes have received comprehensive concussion education using the web-based learning tool.
The training center has recently undergone a $15 million renovation and currently serves as the team’s headquarters and training and practice facility year-round.
The process of integrating Dignity Health branding assets throughout the training center and other team platforms will take place over the coming weeks.
