Dignity Health, Creighton University and the Diocese of Phoenix form collaborative mission committee to better serve the community

Posted in:

A collaborative mission committee has been formed to bring together representatives from Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, CommonSpirit Health, Creighton University, and the Diocese of Phoenix. This new initiative is being formed to serve as a catalyst for ideas and initiatives that will deepen our shared missions and ministries. More importantly, as the world deals with the COVID-19 pandemic, our collaborative efforts will help us better serve our community.

The committee and its initiatives will not impact day-to-day hospital operations or the medical treatment provided to our patients. Instead, it will look for ways to share opportunities and partner on projects that fulfill our missions, and enrich our culture.

In honor of the launch of this committee, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix and St. Joseph’s are pleased to announce that daily mass will begin to take place in St. Joseph’s Marian Chapel for hospital staff, patients and visitors beginning Wednesday, March 26. For now, the mass will be live streamed and broadcasted on the hospital’s internal television channel to ensure social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is an opportune time to collaborate as St. Joseph’s celebrates its 125th anniversary, the Creighton University Health Sciences Campus in Phoenix takes shape, and the Diocese of Phoenix just marked its 50th anniversary. The committee will help the partners commemorate these special milestones.
