Dr. Douglas Ross Named President of Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center

(PHOENIX - Nov. 13, 2024) - Douglas Ross, MD, FACEP, has been named president of Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Ross will be joining St. Joseph’s from the CHI St. Vincent System in Arkansas, where he currently serves as chief medical officer for the market and as president of St. Vincent Hot Springs Hospital. 

A highly qualified leader, Dr. Ross joined St. Vincent Hospital Hot Springs early in his career as a staff physician in the emergency department. Since that time, he has served in a variety of leadership roles within CommonSpirit Health, of which Dignity is a member, including as vice president of medical affairs, medical director of emergency services, chief of staff and medical director.

Dr. Ross earned his Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He also serves on the board of several professional and community organizations and has received many honors, including being named Administrator of the Year (for large hospitals) by the Arkansas Hospital Association.
