Fall 2013 Health & Wealth Raffle Awards Early VIP Prizes To Seven Lucky Winners

John Beaty-a Phoenix man who shares a patched-together, 10-year-old car with his wife, Taina-has won a 2013 Mercedes C250 in the VIP Appreciation Draw of the Fall Health & Wealth Raffle.  The final draw for the $1 million grand prize is October 30.

"It's not mine," he declared, handing the keys to his wife of 32 years. "I've made her the happiest person in the world, and that's what I care about. She's the boss."

Beaty said he has played in every Raffle since the fundraiser was launched more than 10 years ago, usually purchasing a three-pack as he did in the current Raffle. "This to me isn't really gambling," he said, "because say you don't win anything-it's going to a good cause."

Beaty and his siblings were born at St. Joseph's, and a family member received care at Barrow Neurological Institute. He continued buying tickets in each Raffle even after being laid off from his construction job. 

The white luxury sedan replaces a 2004 sedan with torn upholstery and broken plastic molding. "It smells like dirty feet because my son played baseball for 12 years," says Taina, a software systems programmer.

Four amazing prizes will be given away in the Early Draw:  These include: $25,000 cash, 2013 Harley-Davidson Softail Slim motorcycle, St. Thomas Virgin Islands tropical vacation, and Andrea Bocelli Concert Plus Night on the Town in Style For Two.

The Final Deadline to purchase tickets for 2,000+ prizes, including the Grand Prize of one million dollars, is October 30.
