Valley’s Newest Hospital Officially Opens In Glendale
Dignity Health today officially opened the Valley’s newest hospital, St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center. The hospital will initially employ 120 staff.
Located near the Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue, St. Joseph’s Westgate includes:
- 24-inpatient beds
- A 12-bed emergency department with a convenient online waiting service
- Two operating rooms
- Diagnostic services
In addition, St. Joseph’s Westgate will also offer many inpatient services including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gastrointestinal and endoscopy. For the most complex medical cases patients will benefit from the clinical integration with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. The 35-acre campus is also expected to eventually house community physicians and outpatient partners, giving patients one location for their healthcare needs.
“We are thrilled to be open and providing high quality medical services to the residents of the West Valley,” says Tina Brucato-Day, Administrator of St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center. “St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center will provide its patients with highly trained medical staff and patient-centered care.”
St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center will be the fourth Dignity Health hospital in Arizona. Chandler Regional Medical Center, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, which is home to Barrow Neurological Institute, are part of the Dignity Health system. In the West Valley, Dignity Health operates a family practice clinic and an orthopedic clinic in Peoria, imaging centers throughout the area, an outpatient surgery center and a partnership with the Minute Clinics located in the CVS Pharmacies in Glendale and Goodyear.
