Cardiovascular Operating Rooms/Hybrid Suite
Dignity Health’s cardiovascular operating rooms are specially designed and equipped for heart patients’ complex needs. They are separate from the general surgical operating rooms because cardiac surgery patients require specialized care.
These advanced operating rooms allow doctors to implant, repair and perform complex minimally invasive procedures on the spot. Now patients receive care quicker with less stress.
Our cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons work closely together, making the transition from catheter-based intervention to open surgery seamless and efficient.
Hybrid Suite
Our hybrid suite offers the capability to do diagnostic and surgical intervention in one space. This provides a higher level of efficiency and safety for certain high-risk procedures. Our specialized suite provides an environment for optimal patient outcomes by fostering collaborative treatment planning and options.
Procedures we perform in the suite include:
- Advanced aortic aneurysm repairs
- Peripheral vascular procedures
- Pacemaker and defibrillator lead extractions
- Certain types of cardiac surgery
Patient benefits include:
- Less radiation used during imaging
- Reduced need for ICU care
- Shorter procedure times
- Shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries
Cardiothoracic intensive care
Dignity Health’s cardiothoracic intensive care unit (CT)ICU is separate from the general surgical intensive care unit because cardiac surgery patients require specialized care. Research has found that patients with nearly identical medical and surgical concerns are best cared for in a specialized environment tailored specifically for them. Our doctors and nurses strive for patients’ rapid and safe recovery from cardiac surgery and anesthesia.
