Common risks are as follows:
- Bleeding
- Infection
- Right heart failure
- Kidney failure
- Stroke
- LVAD/Pump malfunction
- Blood clots
A thorough evaluation process will help with decreasing the above risk factors and will be discussed in detail while meeting with the Center for Advanced Heart Failure team in person in the clinic prior to the surgery.
