Ross Bremner, MD, PhD
Ross M. Bremner, MD, PhD, is the Executive Director of Norton Thoracic Institute and the Department Chair of the Center for Thoracic Disease and Transplantation at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He is board certified in cardiothoracic and general surgery.
Dr. Bremner specializes in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology, esophageal surgery, and lung transplantation. He directs a laboratory that conducts research into thoracic cancer and transplant immunology.
He has been named one of Arizona’s “Top Docs” by Phoenix Magazine every year for the last eight years. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Bremner earned his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, graduating magna cum laude and receiving the Harwood Nash Memorial medal for surgery. He completed general surgery training at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles while he earned a PhD. He then received cardiothoracic training at USC. Dr. Bremner was a member of the faculty at USC for five years before relocating to Arizona to head up the thoracic program at St. Joseph’s.
