Clinical research is critical to our collective ability to improve the quality of life for all persons.
In addition to clinical care, NTI is committed to research and education. The Norton Thoracic Research Laboratory on the campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center opened in July of 2015, and is dedicated to research of esophageal and cardiac disease, lung cancer and cancer immunology, and transplant immunology.
Dignity Health currently supports 16 internal Institutional Review Boards providing oversight for nearly 1,000 clinical trials across the system. With both basic research laboratories as well as hundreds of clinical trials, patients have access to state-of-the-art treatments.
Laboratory research at St. Joseph’s involves over 25 laboratories with more than 100 scientists dedicated to basic research to advance medicine and patient care.
The research administration team at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center provides a broad spectrum of support and services to members of the hospital’s biomedical research community.
