Wait Times: This may vary due to the triage system used in all emergency rooms. Patients are prioritized by the severity of their condition. Those that have more critical, emergent care needs will receive more immediate attention.
Treatment and Testing: A nurse will review your medical history, ask about allergies, medications and previous conditions, and check your vital signs. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, you may wait in the triage area or be placed in an exam room. Blood work or imaging tests may be necessary.
