Neurocritical Care in the Bay Area
While in the ICU unit, a nurse directly monitor you at all times. You may require breathing support by mechanical ventilation or be unconscious much of the time. As part of your treatment, our care team may sedate you or induce a coma, if needed.
When you’re more stable and meet criteria for baseline neurological functioning and other markers, you may be transferred to a subacute care unit.
If you or a family member requires neurocritical care at Dignity Health, you can expect to be treated with personal care and respect as you recover.
