Together, we're building healthier communities for everyone.
Our commitment to building healthier communities extends to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and respected. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential for providing high-quality care to all.
We're proud that every Dignity Health hospital in California participated in the 2024 Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), a program of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). All our hospitals earned recognition as a "Leader” or “Top Performer” for providing welcoming and knowledgeable care for LGBTQ+ patients. This recognition reflects our dedication to equitable health care services for everyone who walks through our doors.
This commitment to inclusivity strengthens our mission to serve the diverse communities of California with compassion and respect.
Dignity Health is dedicated not only to providing exceptional care today but also to shaping the future of health care. We're proud to offer a robust Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, training the next generation of skilled and compassionate physicians. More than 500 resident physicians are enrolled across more than a dozen residency and fellowship programs at our California hospitals. In addition to our GME program, we are committed to developing the next generation of nurses through our comprehensive Nursing Residency Program. This program provides new graduate nurses with the support and experience needed to excel in their careers and deliver high-quality patient care.
In partnership with the Morehouse School of Medicine, CommonSpirit Health has established the More in Common Alliance (MiCA). This ambitious 10-year, $100 million initiative will expand medical education and training opportunities, with a focus on increasing the number of culturally competent clinicians and researchers. MiCA is a testament to our commitment to creating a health care system that is both equitable and representative of the diverse communities we serve.
Our commitment to the future of health care extends to supporting the growth and development of our nursing staff. Our Nurse Residency Program is designed to empower newly licensed registered nurses (RNs) as they transition into practice, fostering confidence and professional growth.
