Meet Dr. Laird - an expert in orthopedic surgery and kindness.

SAN ANDREAS, CA – July 1, 2024 – Dr. Michael T. Laird, an orthopedic surgeon with decades of expertise, has joined the Mark Twain Medical Center Team. He is a graduate of the UHS/The University of Chicago Medical School, did is internship in General Surgery at New York University Medical Center and residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases/Orthopedic Institute in New York City.

He was a partner in the Central Coast Orthopedic Medical Group in Pismo Beach, CA, where he began his career in 1994. He also served as a Medical Director of the Coastal Surgical Institute. Dr. Laird is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons where in the past, he served on the Board of Counselors.

His leadership roles have included being a member of the Board of Directors of the California Orthopaedic Association; and Chair of the Surgery Departments at both Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, CA and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande, CA.

A revered surgeon and family man

He and his wife Suzanne have six children – four daughters and two sons. Dr. Laird shares a fondness for football with his family. They spend leisure time supporting each other’s many sports activities and enjoying camping trips together.
