Mark Twain Medical Center Welcomes Dr. James Joseph Gonzales, M.D., FACS, Accomplished Surgeon and Healthcare Leader
SAN ANDREAS, CA – March 1, 2024 – Dignity Health Mark Twain Medical Center is pleased to announce the arrival of Dr. James Joseph Gonzales, M.D., FACS, to our medical team. With an impressive background in medicine, surgery, and healthcare leadership, Dr. Gonzales brings a wealth of experience to our community.
Dr. Gonzales earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, graduating in May 1999. Following his commitment to surgical excellence, he furthered his education at UCSF and the Morehouse School of Medicine.
With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Gonzales has proven his dedication to advancing patient care and surgical innovation. His most recent contribution includes serving as a key member of the Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) from October 2021 to the present. In this role, he provided acute care surgical services to Sutter Amador Hospital, serving as a staff surgeon and director of Surgical, Orthopedic, and Wound Care services. Additionally, he assumed the crucial position of Chairman of the Department of Surgery, showcasing his leadership capabilities and commitment to the improvement of healthcare services.
