Our unique initiative, born from the partnership between CommonSpirit Health (Dignity Health’s parent company) and Morehouse School of Medicine, aims to address the crucial need for diverse and culturally competent healthcare providers. Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, a cornerstone of the community, will serve as your training ground, offering exceptional clinical experiences and exposure to a diverse patient population. You will be immersed in a supportive learning environment alongside dedicated faculty and residents, all committed to excellence and service. Beyond clinical skills, we prioritize cultural competency, fostering an understanding of the unique needs and perspectives of diverse communities. As a resident with Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, you will be a part of Common Spirit Health, one of the largest hospitals and health delivery systems in the country. Our residency programs are dedicated to training residents to become highly competent, successful, and resilient physicians by providing foundational training and opportunities to acquire all the skills needed to ultimately become excellent board certified physicians that will serve a diverse patient population in our community.
