The Grossman Burn Center at Memorial Hospital Becomes the First Kern County Emergency Medical Services Designated Burn Receiving Center

BAKERSFIELD, CA – July 17, 2017 – Residents throughout Kern County suffering from a burn injury will now be directly transported to the world-renowned burn center at Memorial Hospital. Dignity Health Memorial Hospital is the first and only designated burn receiving center in Kern County.

The Grossman Burn Center at Memorial Hospital is a plastic surgery-based burn facility specializing in the comprehensive treatment of burns - from acute care and reconstruction, to rehabilitation and psychological counseling. Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) trained medical professionals are available 24/7.

The comprehensive SA Camp Companies Burn Unit at The Grossman Burn Center at Dignity Health Memorial Hospital includes:

  • 7 bed ICU burn unit
  • Outpatient burn clinic
  • Adult and pediatric catastrophic burn care and pediatric intensive care burn
  • Dedicated operating suite
