Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation Announces New Appointments to Board of Directors

New members Kathy Roinestad and Shefali Vatsa will join the Board of Directors as the Foundation begins its Fiscal Year.

ARROYO GRANDE, CA – July 7, 2017 – Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of two officers to its Board of Directors, Kathy Roinestad and Dr. Shefali Vatsa. 

Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation supports the charitable and community health care mission of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital through fundraising and relationship building. The Foundation solicits philanthropic gifts, provides stewardship of these gifts, and grants funds to the hospital to advance the health of the community.  Board members are responsible for facilitating these activities by being ambassadors for the Foundation, serving on Foundation committees, and providing insight and expertise. 

Kathy Roinestad is the office administrator at her husband’s construction business – Alan Roinestad Construction and Management. She has served on several nonprofit boards and community organizations. Dr. Shefali Vatsa has a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She has worked in various agencies as a counseling intern with students and adults, and is planning to seek licensure as a clinical psychologist. The Roinestads and the Vatsas have been actively involved in philanthropy for Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation. 

“The diverse background of our board members has been indispensable to our ability to integrate so well into the community. These new appointments have so much to offer and will surely bring insightful perspectives to our Board,” said Montisa Phelan Lopez, Vice President of Philanthropy at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation.

The Foundation will also bid farewell to several board members who completed their tenure on June 30, 2017 after years of dedicated service. Outgoing board members include Fletcher Burton, Dan Cashier, Nancy DePue, Linda Fibich, Blanche Hollingsead, Juanita McMullen, Mary O’Connor, and Dr. Jesse Wobrock.

“We will greatly miss all of the wonderful board members that will be leaving us this year. They have served so diligently through the years, and we are so grateful to have had them with us,” said Montisa.

The Board has been reorganized with Julie Coleman as Chairwoman, Jeff Zambo as Vice Chairman, Kath Tompkins as Immediate Past Chair, Tom Cook as Treasurer, and Kimberly Goodwin as Secretary. All other officers include Dr. Bill Ashley, Michael Boyer, Cathy Cachu, Barbara Cotton, Dennis Delzeit, Dr. Gary Donath, Kathy Fissori, Judy Hearn, Jennifer Leininger, Angie Mello, Jeff Minnery, Kathy Roinestad, Shefali Vatsa, and Julie Wobrock.
