Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation Call-a-thon Raises Over $225,000 for Surgical Services
ARROYO GRANDE, CA – January 14, 2021 – Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation raised $225,900 at its second annual Call-a-thon. The event was held virtually on December 8, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to benefit upgrades and modernization of the hospital’s surgical services.
The success of the event can be largely attributed to a matching gift challenge made by Kon Tiki Inn owner, Henry Myers, who matched all gifts up to $100,000. The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation raised $125,900 and Henry matched $100,000, making the total $225,900.
“The hospital is so important for our growing community. I think everyone should give back to the community that enabled their success,” says Henry.
The Call-a-thon was hosted virtually on Zoom, and was broadcasted on Facebook Live. The live footage can be viewed on Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation’s Facebook page. Volunteers called from their homes, and several community leaders and hospital experts will give presentations remotely during the event.
The funds raised from the Call-a-thon will benefit Arroyo Grande Community Hospital’s Surgical Services Campaign. Several updates are needed to elevate the infrastructure around the hospital’s highly skilled surgery team to match the lifesaving work they do. The campaign will help provide advanced technology, increased functionality and safety, modernized environment, new programs, and education opportunities for staff. Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation is partnering with the community to raise $1.5 M to make these upgrades possible.
