French Hospital Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of 2023

Healthy baby boy brings joy and an excitement to local parents

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – January 3, 2023 – French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) is excited to announce that it has welcomed its first baby of the year!

French Hospital welcomed a healthy baby boy, Mason Shannon. He arrived at 11:10am on January 2 weighing eight pounds, four ounces and measuring 21.25 inches long.

Mason’s mother and father, Kylie and Blake Shannon, are delighted with their new bundle of joy - the first baby for the proud parents.  

“We are so grateful that he is here and is healthy,” says father Blake. It has definitely been a journey but this is the start of what’s going to be the best year yet. The team at French Hospital made us feel like more than family and we are forever grateful for the care they provided before, during, and after the birth.” 

Nurses at FHMC’s Stollmeyer Family Birthing Center presented the family with a beautiful gift basket filled with goodies and essentials for the sweet bundle of joy.

Both mom and baby are healthy and recovering in the hospital.
