French Hospital Medical Center Celebrates International Nurses Day and Florence Nightingale’s Birthday with a Surprise!

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA, May 12, 2023 – Nurses at French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) received a surprise today on International Nurses Day and the birthday of the legendary Nurse Florence Nightingale. 

Julie Fogelson, RN, Chief Nursing Executive at the hospital and a group of RN’s dressed in traditional white nursing uniforms and white nurse caps. The group made rounds to all the hospital departments surprising nurses and thanking them for their dedication and hard work. Julie and her team also handed out special commemorative pins to each nurse as a token of appreciation. 

“We appreciate our Nurses and wanted to honor them in a unique way. We could not do what we do without them,” says Julie Fogelson, RN, CNE. “Nurses possess a unique blend of compassion, expertise, and resilience that transforms them into the unsung heroes of healthcare and we are thankful for each and every one of them.”
