Healthy baby boy brings joy and an excitement to local parents

CENTRAL COAST, CA – January 1, 2021 – Marian Regional Medical Center welcomed its first baby of the year, a healthy infant boy named Vladimir Diaz Lopez. He arrived just hours after the stroke of midnight at 2:36a.m. weighing six pounds and three ounces and 19.25 inches long.

Baby’s mother, Rosalba Lopez Zeferino and father Celestino Diazbout are overjoyed with their unexpected New Year’s arrival. Vladimir is the Leo is the second baby for the proud new mother, who also has a five-year-old son. Both mom and baby are healthy and doing well.

To celebrate this blessing and welcome this bundle of joy, birthing center nurses presented mom, dad, and baby with a beautiful gift basket filled with goodies and essentials for the sweet bundle of joy.

While the new parents knew their son would arrive any day, they expected him earlier, and starting 2021 with this wonderful gift was a great surprise for them. “We feel good,” says Rosalba. “I expected him earlier, I didn’t expect him to be the first of the year.”

The Maternal and Newborn Center at Marian offers a loving start for every baby and loving care for every mom. The private labor and delivery, and recovery suites are equipped with advanced equipment to ensure the safety of the mother and baby. Additionally, our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides highly specialized, family centered care for newborns that require extra attention.
