Good News to Share: Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals “Hurrah for Heroes” to Show Appreciation for All First Responders

At noon each day, the Mission Integration team rings bells in hospitals' bell towers

OXNARD, CA – (April 8, 2020) – St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH) and St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), members of Dignity Health, recently launched “Hurrahs for Heroes,” to thank all front-line employees for their dedication during this critical time. In recognition of all first responders, the Mission Integration Department is ringing the bells at both bell towers at noon daily to show appreciation to hospital staff and others in the community.

“St. John’s Hospitals are leading the effort locally to recognize those that are working so diligently to support our communities during this time of need,” said Darren Lee, President and CEO of St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “Our health care teams have done an amazing job of preparing for COVID-19 and we want to take the time to thank them. In addition, we have partnered with local organizations that can offer daily prayer, a ringing of bells, a moment of pause, and well-wishes to anyone that needs an outpouring of support while enduring this pandemic.”

This daily act recognizes all essential employees including operational restaurant staff, grocery store employees, and the many individuals that are working persistently to care for our communities.
