Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals Want Community Members to Know Emergency Departments are Safe
OXNARD, CA – April 29, 2020 – St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH), which are Dignity Health hospitals, want to assure the community that the hospital emergency departments are safe for anyone experiencing a medical emergency or in need of urgent health care.
Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals have taken extensive measures to separate potential coronavirus patients from all others in a proactive effort to care for those seeking emergency medical attention during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each emergency department has created separate patient treatment areas to reduce the risk of exposure while continuing to care for medical emergencies, such as cardiac, abdominal, neurological (stroke), and other illnesses.
“Our community members will be safe and well cared for in our ERs in the event of a health-related emergency, says Darren Lee, President and CEO of St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “Some people have delayed necessary ER visits and may be worse off because of it. We urge people with health emergencies to take immediate action knowing we are ready, able and prepared to provide care in a safe environment, just as we always have.”
In addition to our hospital emergency departments, our Dignity Health Medical Group is accepting patients.
