Golf and Tennis Tournament Raises Funds
Event co-chairs Jake Ganajian, St. John’s Healthcare Foundation Board Member, and Sister Suzanne Krawczyk, Sister of Mercy Sponsor for St. John’s Hospitals, led the organizing efforts for the first “Play It Forward” golf and tennis tournament. Proceeds benefit the “Circle of Dignity Campaign” at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo.
“We are so appreciative of the support this event provides to our Hospitals,” said Sister Suzanne Krawczyk. “The funds raised will be directed towards the healing environment through the expansion of the emergency room in Oxnard, discovery through advances in adult stem cell research, and construction for a new Hospital Tower at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo.”
Golfers were given two opportunities to sink a “hole-in-one,” which would have netted them a beautiful new car, courtesy of Jaguar of Thousand Oaks and DCH Lexus of Oxnard. The event kicked-off with the spectacular 500 golf ball drop by Aspen Helicopter. The lucky golfer whose golf ball number landed closest to the pin received the $1,000 prize. In addition, Dr. Aaron Ayala was on hand to demonstrate the Active Relief Technique pressure point release to relieve the athlete’s tired muscles.
St. John’s thanks our sponsors, players, volunteers and everyone that donated to make the day such a success. To view photos that captured everyone’s enthusiasm and the fun we had raising money for the hospitals, visit our website and click on the link for Golf and Tennis Photos 2014.
