Free Heart Health Cooking Class: Plant-Based Style Adaptation!
OXNARD, CA, July 18, 2018 – St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), a Dignity Health hospital, invites community members to learn how to incorporate healthier, plant- based foods to their diet. Let our health educators guide you to select plant-based ingredients and explain healthier cooking methods for your heart. Register now for this fun, unique, and free event before all seats are taken! Attendees will have the chance to taste the dishes prepared.
The health cooking class will be held on Thursday, August 2 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Regional Medical Center (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard), in the Conference Center on the Garden Level.
“This plant-based meal class has been designed to make nutritious eating both delicious and educational,” said Suzanne Soppe, RSM, Health Educator at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. “A well-balance diet is not only beneficial in maintaining a healthier lifestyle, but plays a significant role in reducing the risk of chronic conditions.”
This session will introduce recipes with natural whole food ingredients, with alternative cooking techniques, that the whole family can enjoy. Participants will also learn about a plant-based diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein.
