Free Heart Health Cooking Class and Nutrition Discussion!
Following the success of our first two cooking demonstrations, Dignity Health - St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), again, invites community members to learn how to prepare another meal that is good for your heart. This time we explore the flavors of Indian food. Allow a chef, a doctor, and a nutritionist to show you how to cook with Indian food ingredients and explain why they are a healthy choice for your heart. Sign up for this popular, free event before all the spots are gone! Participants are welcome to taste the food prepared.
Indian cooking night will be held on Thursday, September 7 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center on the Garden Level at St. John’s Regional Medical Center (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard, CA 93030).
This event is organized by our Community Health Education Department, Food and Nutrition Services, and physicians. It will be presented by experts from the SJRMC staff:
- Manoj Khatore, MD, Cardiologist
- Maria Kokkinides, DO, Internal Medicine
- Prachi Joshi-Muley, RN, Internal Medicine
- Matthew Schantz, Hospital Chef
Join us by yourself, with your spouse, a friend or family member to learn about cooking that tastes as good as it is for your heart!
