Interested in Becoming a Student Volunteer?
Please complete an application and at least one letter of recommendation or our recommendation form. You must also have your parent complete a parental consent form. Instead of mailing or dropping off your application, please call the director of Volunteer Services at (805) 988-2627 to schedule an interview.
When you come for your interview, please bring a copy of your immunization records and $15 for your student dues, which will cover your required t-shirt and lanyard. You will be required to take a tuberculosis test before you can begin volunteering, which will be scheduled at the time of your interview. Cost will be covered by St. John’s.
Please note we require a minimum of three to four hours a week and a minimum of 75 hours within six months for you to receive documentation from the hospital of your volunteer hours. If you miss more than three consecutive shifts, you may be dropped from the volunteer program.
