Arroyo Grande Specialty Center is a multi-specialty clinic which includes Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our OB/GYN providers and staff aim to provide the highest level of care through our highly competent health care professionals. We are devoted to addressing patients' individual needs and demands in a warm and caring environment. With years of experience, our physicians demonstrate professionalism and expertise at every level. We offer a full range of obstetrics and gynecology services from your initial exam to childbirth through menopause. We strive to provide patient-centered medical care based on mutual trust and communication.
Our physicians are affiliated with French Hospital Medical Center as well as Bishop’s Peak Women’s Health Center in San Luis Obispo and we are accepting new patients.
Arroyo Grande Specialty Center also offers Orthopedics.
Meet our Expert Team
Maria Cecilia Rasul, MD
Dr. Maria Cecilia A. Rasul is a Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist and a fellow of the American College of OBGYN. She trained at Georgetown University, Washington DC, where she had been practicing for nearly 20 years before relocating to CA. In addition to private practice, she was an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University and was actively involved in OBGYN residency training.
Philosophy of care:
"You are a partner in your care." My goal is to educate and empower patients so they can actively manage and maintain their health, no matter what stage of life they are experiencing.
Vivian Storrer, MD
Dr. Vivian Storrer is an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist with over 36 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from the University of Southern California Medical School in 1986. She completed her residency in 1990 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, and practiced at the United States Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan, for two years, coming to San Luis Obispo in 1992.
Dr. Storrer is a board-certified OBGYN and a fellow of the American College of OBGYN. She is affiliated with French Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Storrer believes in providing her patients with the information required to make individualized decisions regarding their medical care.
Karen Song, MD
Dr. Karen Song is a Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist and a fellow of the American College of OBGYN.
Dr. Song was raised in Southern California and completed her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Women's Studies at San Francisco State University. She graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2007 and completed her residency training at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center in 2011.
She worked for a federally qualified health center in Porterville, CA, for three years before relocating to her husband's hometown Marshall, MO. She spent five years in Missouri before joining Dignity Health in Santa Maria in 2019.
She joined the team at Bishop's Peak Women's Health in 2021.

Dr. Song is married to her husband, Chris, and they have two children, Zoe, age 13, and Lee, age 10.
She enjoys reading, running, fitness, traveling, and eating delicious food.
Amanda Thorson, DO
Dr. Thorson earned her undergraduate degree in Physiology at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) followed by medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Washington, and then completed her residency program at Oklahoma State University (OSU).
As Chief Resident, she was instrumental in instituting a robotic surgery curriculum at OSU, as well as making the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery program a standard part of residency education.
Dr. Thorson received excellent training in high-risk obstetrics and a wide scope of approaches to gynecologic surgery, with an emphasis on minimally invasive. She prides herself on the ability to tailor a surgical approach directly to the needs of each patient and is passionate about family planning and preconception counseling.
She is a California native and avid sports fan, Dr. Thorson and her husband, Robbie, love the outdoors and look forward to Central Coast living with their puppies Buddy and Bruin

Samantha Jacot, NP
Samantha Jacot has been a Family Nurse Practitioner with the Bishop's Peak Women's Health Center team since 2018. She was born and raised in Northern California. Her medical career started at 17 when she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her dream was to one day become a nurse.
Sam moved to the Central Coast in 2003 and studied Nutrition at Cal Poly. She then obtained her RN at Allan Hancock College. After graduation, Sam worked on the Telemetry unit at Marian Regional Medical Center and French Hospital. She then completed her BSN in Nursing at Regis University, and her Master's in Family Nurse Practitioner at Walden University. Sam's goal as a nurse practitioner is to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a compassionate, judgment-free environment. She is passionate about women's health prevention and maintenance.
Sam is married to her husband, Mike, and they have two children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, running and enjoying all of the wonderful amenities the Central Coast offers.
