Coastal Cardiology’s team of board-certified physicians has been serving the Central Coast’s cardiovascular needs for more than forty years. The team joined Dignity Health Pacific Central Coast Health Centers in 2024 and our mission since 1986 continues to be to  provide the best cardiac care possible to each and every patient.  Two accredited onsite labs — echocardiography and nuclear cardiology are available for the convenience of our patients and referring physicians.

We have Coastal Cardiology locations in San Luis Obispo, Templeton and Arroyo Grande. The San Luis Obispo office is also where our Diagnostic Center is located.

Meet our Expert Team

Armin Bandari MD

Dr. Armin Bandari is a native of Chicago. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where he received a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Studies in Religion. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Following medical school, Dr. Bandari completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at the University of Wisconsin/Aurora Health Care program in Milwaukee.

Dr. Bandari’s professional interests include cardiac imaging, preventive cardiology, and the management of congestive heart failure. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. He also has advanced certification in the interpretation of coronary and peripheral CT angiography.

Dr. Bandari’s personal interests include hiking, jazz music and college football.

Robert Doria, MD

Dr. Robert Doria has lived on the Central Coast and practiced Cardiovascular Medicine as a partner with Coastal Cardiology since 1990. His undergraduate education was obtained at the U.S. Air Force Academy and the University of California, Los Angeles. He attended graduate schools at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and UCLA where he studied radiation biology and radiation physics. He attended medical school at the University of Southern California. After residency in Internal Medicine, he completed his fellowship in Cardiology at the University of California, Irvine.

While he practices all aspects of cardiology, his primary interests are in the treatment of coronary artery disease, interventional revascularization procedures, cardiac arrhythmias including treatment with pacemaker and defibrillator devices, and advanced congestive heart failure, including the use of device therapies for support and cardiac transplantation.

Dr. Doria has received Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He was elected to Fellowship in the American College of Cardiology in 1990.

Dr. Doria lives with his wife and three children and enjoys spending spare time with family activities, youth sports, basketball and snow skiing.

Andrew Dennish, MD

Dr. Andrew Dennish grew up in San Diego as the son of a cardiologist. He attended college at UCLA, where he received his B.S. in marine biology in 1996. He then attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, receiving his M.D. in 2001. He trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, from 2001 through 2007.

Dr. Dennish is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. He is the Chief of Staff at Templeton’s Twin Cities Community Hospital. His professional interests include preventive cardiology, non-invasive cardiac imaging and the management of chronic cardiac conditions such as coronary disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias. During his training, he participated in designing and supporting hospital-based programs for the rapid triage and assessment of chest pain, as well as a statewide network to rapidly treat heart attack victims.

In his spare time, Dr. Dennish enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and following sports. Dr. Dennish work in both our Templeton and SLO Diagnostic offices.

Lorianna Fletcher, MD

Dr. Lorianna Fletcher is a California native and moved to the San Luis Obispo area in 1998. She received her M.D. degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1991. Additional training includes a Masters Degree in Public Health from Tulane University and Internal Medicine residency at Duke University. She did her Cardiology Fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California from 1995-1998. She is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.

She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology with additional training in coronary CT angiography. Her areas of specialty include cardiac rehabilitation, preventative cardiology and noninvasive myocardial imaging with nuclear imaging and echocardiography. She is the director of Coastal Cardiology’s state of the art nuclear imaging laboratory. When not working she is busy running marathons or just running after her two children.

Dr. Fletcher works from both our San Luis Obispo offices and our Arroyo Grande location.

Mohammad Hashmi, MD

Dr. Mohammad Hashmi comes to Coastal Cardiology from the Deborah Heart and Lung Institute in Browns Mills, New Jersey, where he completed his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in 2024.  His cardiovascular diseases fellowship was completed in 2023 through the University of San Francisco (Fresno, CA) where he also did his residency in Internal Medicine.

While he practices all aspects of cardiology, his primary interests are in treatment of coronary artery disease, interventional revascularization procedures and cardiac structural/valvular interventions. Dr. Hashmi has many years of experience in medical research and has published several peer reviewed journal articles and abstracts.  He has performed volunteer work with medical relief service teams in Pakistan.  He has also received several awards including the Honors in Cardiology at the New York Institute of Technology, the Editor’s Choice Award at the Aortic Symposium, and the Gold Medal for academic distinctions in medical school.

Dr. Hashmi is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and the American Osteopathic Association. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Mohammad Hashmi to the Central Coast and Coastal Cardiology!

Adam Niku, MD

Dr. Adam Niku grew up in San Luis Obispo as the son of two Cal Poly professors. He attended college at UCLA, where he received his B.S. in biochemistry in 2011. He then attended medical school at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, receiving his M.D. in 2016. He trained in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 2016 to 2019 and in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston 2019 to 2022.

Dr. Niku is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac CT. His professional interests include non-invasive imaging, valvular heart disease, and onco-cardiology (the management of chronic cardiac conditions in cancer patients). During his training, he participated in research projects examining the natural history and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and amyloid heart disease.

In his spare time, Dr. Niku enjoys cooking, making ice cream, and playing music.

Mark Sada, MD

Dr. Mark Sada joined our group in 1997. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and received his MD from the University of California at Irvine in 1989. Dr. Sada’s additional training was at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Dr. Sada is board certified in cardiology and interventional cardiology. His areas of interest include catheter-based treatment of coronary artery and peripheral vascular disease as well as carotid stenting, implantation of pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy. His hobbies include tennis and skiing.

Madeline McDonald, PA-C

Madeline McDonald, PA-C, grew up in Orange County before receiving her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly SLO in Biological Sciences.  During her time, Madeline competed on Cal Poly’s Division I Cross Country and Track and Field teams.  Following graduation from Cal Poly, Madeline attended Chapman University to obtain her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.  She identified her passion for cardiology during didactic work, in addition to clinical training through a cardiology practice in Orange County.

Madeline was excited to relocate back to San Luis Obispo to join the Coastal Cardiology team.  Outside of the clinic, she enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with friends/family!

Megan Hansen, ACNP

Megan Hansen, ACNP,  grew up in Templeton, the daughter of an orthopedic surgeon. After high school, she studied at UC Berkeley, earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology while competing on the women’s rowing team. During her time at Cal, the women’s rowing team won 2 NCAA championship titles and Megan had the opportunity to compete internationally at the U23 World Championships. Following graduation, she moved to New Jersey to train with the US Rowing National Team in hopes of being selected for the Olympic team. While the Olympic was not realized, Megan did have the opportunity to represent the USA at the Pan American games and bring home a silver medal in the women’s pair event. Following her adventure in rowing, Megan returned to school at CSU Los Angeles to obtain a second bachelor’s degree in Nursing as well as a master’s degree. After spending time at both Cedars Sinai and UCLA Ronald Regan hospitals, she realized how much she valued the Central Coast and the community hospital setting. After moving home, Megan worked as a bedside nurse on the telemetry unit of French Hospital where she developed a love for cardiology.  Following completion of her Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner board certification, she worked as a hospitalist prior to joining Coast Cardiology. In her time away from the office, Megan enjoys baking, needlepoint, and reading.

From southbound Highway 101, exit at Marsh Street. Follow Marsh Street to the Johnson Avenue stoplight. Turn right on Johnson Avenue and continue uphill to the second stoplight at Lizzie Street. At the second stoplight, turn right into the French Hospital Medical Center parking lot. Continue parallel to Johnson Avenue past the hospital entrance. You will see designated patient parking and the covered entry into the Pacific Medical Plaza.

From the South
