Med Plus Pismo Beach
Med Plus Pismo Beach is a Primary Care medical office that offers many services, including family medicine, internal medicine, and also urgent care. As part of the Dignity Health network, Med Plus Pismo Beach is dedicated to delivering high quality, compassionate care.
Our experienced team of Primary Care Physicians offers diagnosis and treatment of many common illnesses, as well as the management of long term, acute and chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypothyroidism and heart disease. We offer guidance on preventative care, immunization, and health maintenance with patient education and screening programs. Our office has a nurturing environment but virtual visits are available upon request.
Meet our Expert Team
Kathleen Chak, DO
Dr. Chak is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dr. Chak completed her internal medicine internship at the University of California, Riverside and completed a fellowship in geriatrics at Stanford University. She enjoys and specializes in caring for the geriatric population and is interested in her patients' quality of life as they age. Dr. Chak is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Karen Goodman, MD
Dr. Karen Goodman graduated from medical school at Loma Linda University in 1996. She completed her Internship at the University of Texas in San Antonio 1996-1997 and her family medicine residency at Providence St. Peter's from 1997-1999. Dr. Goodman’s medical practice involves taking care of patients from all ages along with their family members and helping them achieve their goals for good health. Dr. Goodman is from Southern California and was happy to be able to settle with her husband in the beautiful Central Coast 17 years ago to raise their two children. Her family is active in their local church and school. Their favorite way of enjoying nature is hiking, and they love to learn about new places by traveling and visiting museums.
