Pediatric services
Here at Mercy Medical Group, we know you want the best care possible for your children. That’s why we offer comprehensive pediatric care for kids through all their stages of growth, from infancy through adolescence.
We recognize that children aren't simply small adults. Our team of compassionate, highly qualified doctors and nurses provides children with routine and advanced medical care that is friendly and reassuring. Because children change so rapidly, and because there are many factors that can affect their development, we believe in the value of parents developing a comfortable, trusting relationship with their pediatrician, so that we can be there every step of the way, helping to ensure children reach their full potential.
Allergy and immunology services
Seasonal allergy symptoms aren't only a bother, but as allergy sufferers can attest, they're a huge hindrance to your everyday activities. During the Sacramento allergy season, watery eyes, sneezing, nasal congestion and wheezing can affect your ability to sleep, work and perform outdoor activities. Allergies can even lead to severe symptoms such as asthma.
Allergies occur when your body reacts to certain outside substances that trigger a reaction, or overreaction, from your immune system. Triggers can come from certain food, animals, or seasonal allergens including pollens, grass and molds. Allergy testing can determine what substances, animals and food your body is allergic to, allowing you to avoid an allergy attack before it happens.
If you suffer from asthma, allergy help is a necessity. Opt for Sacramento allergy testing, and find out what allergens trigger your asthma attacks.
Geriatric services
Geriatrics is a sub-specialty of internal medicine and family medicine that focuses on health care of elderly people. It aims to promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults. There is no set age at which patients may be under the care of a geriatrician or geriatric physician, a physician who specializes in the care of elderly people. Rather, this decision is determined by the individual patient's needs, and the availability of a specialist.
Geriatrics differs from standard adult medicine because it focuses on the unique needs of the elderly person. The aged body is different physiologically from the younger adult body, and during old age, the decline of various organ systems becomes prominent. Previous health issues and lifestyle choices produce a different constellation of diseases and symptoms in different people. The appearance of symptoms depends on the remaining healthy reserves in the organs.

Optometry and ophthalmology services
Optometry is a medical profession that deals with nonsurgical medical eye care and vision problems. Our optometrists are trained to provide high-quality eye care, including accurate glasses and contact lens fitting. Some of the common eye problems Mercy Medical Group's optometrists manage include:
- AcrySof® ReSTOR® vision restoration surgery
- Optometry services
- Pediatric exams
- Glaucoma surgery
- Vision testing
Many eye problems are related to other medical conditions, such as diabetes and autoimmune or thyroid disease. Under these circumstances, Mercy Medical Group's ophthalmologists work closely with physicians in other medical specialties to diagnose and treat the underlying problem.
Rheumatology services
Mercy Medical Group offers patients an expanded rheumatology team that treats a variety of diseases affecting muscles, bones and joints along with other organs in the body. Some conditions we commonly treat are Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Gout. It's our philosophy to treat each individual as a whole, not just the disease, keeping them informed and involved in their own treatment plans.
In addition to convenience, continuity of care is a priority. Our rheumatologists work closely with Mercy Medical Group’s physical medicine & rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, pain management and other departments to help patients regain mobility and enhance their quality of life.
