Endocrinology services
An endocrinologist cares for disorders of the endocrine system—the system of glands that produces hormones. Mercy Medical Group endocrinologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the glandular system and metabolism - most commonly diabetes and thyroid diseases.
The endocrine system consists of several glands in different parts of the body that secrete hormones directly into the blood rather than into a duct system. Hormones have many different functions and modes of action; one hormone may have several effects on different target organs, and, conversely, one target organ may be affected by more than one hormone.
Family medicine services

Geriatric services
Geriatrics is a sub-specialty of internal medicine and family medicine that focuses on health care of elderly people. It aims to promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults. There is no set age at which patients may be under the care of a geriatrician or geriatric physician, a physician who specializes in the care of elderly people. Rather, this decision is determined by the individual patient's needs, and the availability of a specialist.
Geriatrics differs from standard adult medicine because it focuses on the unique needs of the elderly person. The aged body is different physiologically from the younger adult body, and during old age, the decline of various organ systems becomes prominent. Previous health issues and lifestyle choices produce a different constellation of diseases and symptoms in different people. The appearance of symptoms depends on the remaining healthy reserves in the organs.
Neurology services
We provide the Greater Sacramento region with advanced neurology care. Our team of neurologists, all members of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute of Northern California, are regional leaders in stroke care, treating the highest volume of neurovascular patients in the Greater Sacramento region. Our patients benefit from our dedicated team approach. That means you have a team of neurologists working together to manage your care, coordinating with other specialists for the best possible treatment.
Orthopedic services
Our highly trained team of orthopedic experts delivers comprehensive care for injuries and diseases affecting the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. From diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation, our orthopedic surgeons work in concert with other specialists to restore a patient's strength, flexibility and function. Integration with our rehabilitation specialists helps deliver a smooth transition from surgery to recovery, resulting in lower complication rates, more successful outcomes and shorter stays in a hospital setting for the majority of our patients.

Pediatric services
We recognize that children aren't simply small adults. Our team of compassionate, highly qualified doctors and nurses provides children with routine and advanced medical care that is friendly and reassuring. Because children change so rapidly, and because there are many factors that can affect their development, we believe in the value of parents developing a comfortable, trusting relationship with their pediatrician, so that we can be there every step of the way, helping to ensure children reach their full potential.
Podiatry services
Podiatrists are medical specialists who help with problems affecting the foot, ankle or lower leg. They treat a wide variety of conditions ranging from sports injuries to skin irritations. They are often the first to identify systemic illnesses with foot-related symptoms, such as diabetes and vascular disease. Our team of podiatrists can help get patients back to normal activity by treating their injuries and identifying potential factors for reinjury.
Primary care services
The primary care physicians provide complete care for your entire family, diagnosing and treating a variety of health conditions and diseases for patients of all ages. In addition to diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, our physicians provide routine health screenings and preventive care to prevent illnesses before they develop. And, if a health condition arises that requires care from another specialist, we will be there to guide you and to coordinate all aspects of your care.
Sports medicine services
The Sports Medicine Department at Mercy Medical Group is committed to keeping athletes of all ages safely competing in their sport or activity. An emphasis is made on understanding each injury, as well as taking part in the intricate recovery and return to play process. Common examples of conditions that we treat include:
- Acute injuries (such as ankle sprains, muscle strains, knee and shoulder injuries)
