Grand Opening for Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican’s Sahara Campus Attracts More Than 1,000
The Sahara Campus is a neighborhood hospital that is conveniently located on the northwest corner of Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, just 2.2 miles from the 95 freeway and 2.1 miles from Interstate 15. It offers easy access to comprehensive, high-quality care – including 24/7 emergency room care – in areas of the community where patients need it most.
The hospital is two stories and 38,500 square feet and is officially open as of Tuesday, Dec. 12. The ground floor of the neighborhood hospital contains eight emergency room beds, eight inpatient beds, full diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, while the second floor is dedicated to medical office space, providing patients with a wide range of ancillary services.
The facility was built through a joint venture partnership of Emerus, the nation’s first and largest operator of neighborhood hospitals, and Dignity Health, one of the nation’s leading health care systems.
“I am honored to be here today, as we celebrate the fourth campus opening through the Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican/Emerus partnership,” said City of Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem Lois Tarkanian. “These respected health care systems are industry leaders, committed to exemplifying the highest standard for emergency care, and this stunning Sahara Campus offers the latest proof that this promise is now a reality.”
Collectively, the new neighborhood hospitals offer the same type of health care services that are typically found on a larger hospital campus. This includes emergency and non-emergency medical care, inpatient care, extensive on-site laboratory and radiology services, and other comprehensive multi-specialty services.
“Las Vegas residents deserve access to the very best health care – without having to make a stressful drive across town, when we all know that every minute counts in an emergency,” said Laura Hennum, Market CEO, Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican Neighborhood Hospitals. “Thanks to the very dedicated and caring people here today, and the leadership and vision of the entire Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican team, each of you can now receive world-class health care – in the convenience of your own neighborhoods.”
Other speakers and dignitaries at the event included Gene Bassett, Senior Vice President of Operations, Dignity Health Nevada; Charlie Guida, St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation President; and Sallie Doebler, Vice President Membership Development, Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.
