Wait From Home. Not in the ER.

Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican now has the solution to spending hours waiting to be seen in the emergency room - it's called InQuicker, and it's reinventing the way ER care is accessed.

Rather than checking in at the emergency room, prospective patients with non life-threatening conditions can check in for a projected treatment time at any of the three St. Rose hospitals using this innovative online service, arrive at the designated time, and be promptly seen by a health care professional.

“Our patients deserve respect for their time in the emergency room,” explains Allen Marino, M.D., chief medical officer of Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican. “Once a prospective patient receives a projected treatment time at one of our hospitals, he or she can wait at home rather than sitting in the waiting room. Once they arrive, we are committed to making sure that they are promptly seen by a health care professional.”

InQuicker is not an appointment or reservation service, as the nature of ER triage does not allow for the scheduling of medical treatment. Treatment time estimates are based on real time conditions so users can wait from the comfort of home, rather than in the waiting room. InQuicker users do not skip the ER wait – they simply wait at home. In the event of a projected treatment time delay, real-time notifications are sent by phone call and email so patients can continue waiting at home.

“InQuicker is intended only for individuals with non-life-threatening or debilitating medical conditions,” Marino added. “It’s a simple, convenient way for people with busy lives to conveniently access care for more minor medical needs. If you're in doubt about the severity of your condition, you should always seek immediate care.”

The InQuicker system is designed to filter certain symptom keywords that may indicate a life-threatening or debilitating medical condition. If the symptoms entered indicate such medical conditions, the user is prompted to dial 911 or go immediately to the nearest emergency room.
