This can be an electrophysiology lab (EP lab) or a cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab). The cath lab specialists will give you a sedative to help you relax during your procedure. 

During catheter ablation, a thin tube (catheter) is inserted into an artery, usually in your groin. Using X-ray guidance, your doctor will gently move the catheter through the artery up to your heart. He or she will inject a dye to help see your heart better on X-rays. Once the catheter is in place, an energy source on the tip of the catheter destroys the diseased heart cells. The energy can come from:
