Dignity Health North State Hospitals grant nearly $464,783 to local nonprofit organizations

REDDING, Calif. (January 16, 2024) - Dignity Health North State announced today the distribution of funding to local nonprofits. Dignity Health’s grant program helps to improve community health and health equity, and enhance local service systems, via restricted charitable contributions for defined projects. Dignity Health North State’s $464,783 funding for local nonprofits is part of Dignity Health California's statewide total of $5.2M that was provided via community grants to nearly 100 organizations.

“As stewards of well-being, the heart of our purpose lies in a mission to support and provide resources to amplify the impact of these organizations. Each contribution is to improve the collective health of our community - a building block in the foundation of a better tomorrow,” said Rodger Page, President, Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.

“We are honored to  provide resources to the vulnerable and underserved populations and cultivate a thriving community where access to essential resources becomes a catalyst for growth and resilience,” added G. Todd Smith, President, Mercy Medical Center Redding.

Every three years, Dignity Health and health system partners conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment in each county to determine the most pressing health priorities.

"Dignity Health's annual community grants program is a testament to our dedication to improving the health and well-being of Californians," shares Julie J. Sprengel, California Region President, CommonSpirit Health. "By awarding over five million dollars in grants to nearly 100 non-profit partners, together, we are addressing some of the more challenging public health issues, such as food and housing insecurities, domestic violence, and mental health."

Dignity Health  recognized the following organizations with grants, as each leveraged the power of collaboration in their communities to offer comprehensive assistance to those in need.
